Chile's 2021 copper output hits lowest level in nearly five years
Chile's copper production in 2021 fell by 1.9% to 5.623 million tons, the lowest level since Chile produced 5.503 million tons of copper in 2017, according to Cochilco data.
Cochilco's report shows that Chile's state-owned company Codelco's December copper production increased by 4.3% year-on-year to 164,600 tons, Glencore and Anglo American's joint venture Collahuasi copper mine production increased by 12.9% to 49,900 tons, BHP Billiton's world's largest copper mine Escondida It fell 17.6% to 86,400 tonnes.
